You also get someone on the phone who can hold the apartment for a late train, move a date, or quote you a month — none of which a platform booking can carry. And free cancellation up to seven days before you arrive.

The city sirens sound and your phone app goes off at the same moment. The shelter is in the basement, reached from the stairwell, so you do not go outside to get to it; it has light, chairs, water and Wi-Fi, and our staff open it. Most alerts end within the hour; some run through the night. Whether you go down each time is your own call, and the shelter is open every time.

Most of the time, yes. When it goes, the outage is normally a scheduled one, published a day ahead, so we can tell you in the morning when your block is due to go dark. The building has no generator: the lift stops, the Wi-Fi goes with the router, and water pressure on the upper floors can drop. The hob is gas and works through an outage — a match lights it — so you can still make coffee and cook a meal; the electric kettle will not. Mobile networks stay up, so a phone hotspot will carry a call. Bring a power bank.

From 14:00, and out by 12:00. Reception is staffed around the clock, so an arrival at four in the morning is not a problem — send us the train or flight and someone will be waiting. Early check-in and late check-out are free when the apartment is empty; ask the day before and we will tell you.

20% by card at the moment of booking, on Monobank’s payment page — the card number never reaches us. The balance on arrival, by card or in cash, in hryvnia. Company invoices and bank transfers are possible for long stays; write to us before booking so we set it up properly.

Free up to seven days before arrival: the deposit comes back in full. Inside seven days we keep the deposit and charge nothing more. A cancellation on the day, or a no-show, costs the first night. For stays of thirty nights or more the window is fourteen days. There is no non-refundable rate here, and moving the dates is usually easier than cancelling.

Yes. One child up to 8 stays free in an existing bed, in any apartment. A cot is free on request, but we have only a few, so ask when you book. The family suite has two bedrooms and the biggest kitchen; the courtyard is gated, which is the thing parents notice first.

Small dogs and cats, yes. Tell us in advance so we can put you in an apartment with a hard floor. No extra charge, though you cover any damage. If your animal cannot be left alone, say so and housekeeping will come while you are in.

Yes, in the courtyard behind the gate, under camera, included in the rate. There are only a few spaces, so tell us if you are driving and we will keep one. The lane itself is narrow and street parking in Pechersk is enforced, so the courtyard is worth having.

Yes — station or airport, at any hour. Most guests now come by train from Przemyśl, Warsaw, Chełm or Chișinău, and we meet those. Boryspil and Zhuliany are closed to civil flights while the airspace is shut. Send the train number and we will track it, so a three-hour delay does not leave you hunting for a taxi at four in the morning.

Bring the passport you crossed the border on. We register your stay ourselves, as every Ukrainian hotel is required to, and it takes two minutes at the desk — there is nothing for you to file. If you are staying beyond ninety days or working here, check the terms of your own visa; that part is past what a hotel can advise on.
